Is Summer treating you badly?
Mar 30th, 2007 by MadV
Summer has already started in this part of the world. It’s not April yet. Sun is shining hot right above the head. The wind is blowing yet, the atmosphere is very hot and dry.
Climate scientists say that earth’s climate is undergoing a drastic change. And early summer indicates global warming.
It’s the time to reshuffle wardrobes for summer clothes to reign again. Or pack up your belongings for a summer vacation camp. Travel agents are smart enough to provide you summer vacation packages in the most attarctive way ever possible. I guess in Kerala Munnar tops amongst the favorite summer destination.
In cold countries summer means an exciting period of the year. People get most active during summer. Kids go for summer jobs and earn big before joining school next academic year.
Schools organise summer camps for kids to utilize the best out of the vacation. I remember seeing one like that in the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hein, starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol.
While studying another summer used to be my nighmare. Huh.. Summer circuits. Diodes, Transistors, Op-amps.. Electronics used to be the most irritating subject for me since it has got many components whose behaviour is dependent on many equations which contain many parameters like temperature etc.
Forget all those since now it’s the time to enjoy the summer breeze while listening to Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams :-).
I wish if Rainy season gets back soon. Rain Gods please listen to my prayers.

Talking about global warming - winter has seen its ups and downs this year. It didn’t snow during Christmas in New York, Boston and the whole east coast in this part of the world. They say its the first time in 120 odd years we’ve seen this.
First major snow occurred in Feb/March whereas it should have been done by now. Now a days ( i.e since 2-3 weeks) we see rain/drizzle as against a regular spring season.
I wonder how summer would be. Not as bad as how it is in Kerala (or anywhere in India) but still
@ Rajesh: Damn happy to know that climate is acting weird in your part of the world also :-P. So not us alone are the sufferers :-D?
Here the climate changes happening are counted as the after effects of the tsunami occured couple of years back. Only God knows what all will happen in future.
And an astonishing fact is that since the climate changes are happening in rather weird manner, many a new varieties of pests and insects are also evolving. And it is affecting crops as well. [I guess I read this somewhere.]
Summer moved out, leaving her place to april showers . Life is gonna be difficult here after
@ Madv - yeah climate creates havoc everywhere. Didn’t know about the pests and insect you mentioned, will check out. Of course weather changes are bound to affect crops and animals/birds - their migration etc..etc…etc..
@Arun:
Thanks for visiting in! Summer moved out? Guess you are in some other part of the world.
@Rajesh:
I got to know about the new kinds of pests from the media. Yeah ofcourse it affects the birds migration also.
[...] My God I’ve to wait for another year to write a post on summer [...]
