[You should treat mother, father, guru and guest as god equivalents]

The serene Indian philosophers or rishis stress on the importance of the respecting people. And mother is given the most importance. Mother is the prominent link in building up a high potent society.
Ancient people have always portrayed mother or woman as sarvamsaha [one who is the symbol of patience]. A lady who can withhold her temper in an unapproachable limit can keep the family together. When ever a minor dispute happens she should be able to patch it up with her intelligence.
She teaches her kids the importance of respecting elders. She always makes sure that she is a good model for them to follow on. She sacrifices her preferences for the betterment of her family and the society.
Due to her serene nature she is respected by everyone in the society. That is the basement of Indian culture. Things have changed a lot now. When feminists try to invoke young ladies in the name of equality with men, they forget the fact that woman was given a position above men in the ancient society.
Men took up the pain of earning the bread while woman were engaged in developing a supreme society. Now with the demand for equality, women are under pressure for sharing the responsibility of earning the bread as well as being the torch bearer for the successors. [Actually there are only quite a few men who can really guide kids in a nice way. Hence more or less the entire pressure is on woman]
You should not wonder when you hear shocking news about ill-behaving school kids. Only you are responsible for it. What you are now is your kid tomorrow.
